New Look for the Coming New Year!
Well...that's it!
Christmas has been and gone for another year... Or has it???
There was just Daisy and I for most of Christmas Day as Dave was working nights, and so still needed some sleep, and the other girls were at their dad's. They are due back Monday bringing with them Christmas Day No2! And Christmas Day No3 will take place in February when my brother-in-law returns - on leave- from overseas.
I decided to pack away the Christmas touch to my blog as the green was a bit heavy on the eyes for too long! Hope you like the 'New Look'
Thank you all so much for coming to visit my blog and thank you for leaving such lovely messages x
Hoping you all had a lovely Christmas and looking forward to New Year celebrations!

My Little Shining Lights...
I sat with the children on Saturday to make Christmas lanterns. I thought they did so well they deserved some credit for their hard work...so here they are...........

Father Christmas...
Father Christmas is the theme for this fortnight's Fat Page challenge on Craftswap...and I have actually done it !!!
I know that I am now talking to myself as you have all fainted on the floor, but I'll carry on anyway!
I have used a 4'' x 4'' piece of mountboard, covered it in a piece of HOTP Christmas paper and inked the edges with a Cats Eye Maroon coloured chalk ink pad. The vintage Father Christmas picture has been layered and and added to the square with a piece of ribbon and a 'Joyful Memories' bookplate secured with brads.
Ho, Ho, Ho.....

'Time' for a friend...
This is something that I made for a dear friend of mine.... I couldn't think of a better gift to give her than 'time' as she has given me so much of hers.
Despite a difficult year for herself, she has always been there for me.
The main part of the clock is...sorry...was! a CD...it's ok, it's not one of OH's fav's!!
I have covered the front with paper from the DCWV Luxury Stack and on the back I have used alcohol inks. The front outer rim was embossed with 'Blue Glass' embossing powder by Heat it Up and the butterfly images are from the ever faithful Tanda Stamps.
Parts of the images have been outlined with sakura pens and I added some flower and leaf embellishments for a bit of texture. The clock mechanism was also from Tanda Stamps...it keeps great time too!
I finished it off by making a couple of holes with my wonderful Crop-o-dile...and added some ribbons and a dangly charm or two at the bottom.

It's Those Mice Again!
I love this House Mouse stamp !
I made several of these cards for my BIL, who is serving in the Middle East, to send home as he'll be out there for Christmas.
They are a simple design as I wanted to keep them flat.I used red leather effect cardstock for the main card and gold mirri card as the base gold layer to add depth to the cards. Then added red liquid pearls to bring out the berries of the punched holly corners.
This is the other type I sent out.
A wide band of ribbon with another little mouse layered on top. The white of his hat is again liquid pearls and 'Merry Christmas' peel offs to finish.
