Flutterby - IndigoBlu Demonstrator Inspiration ...

Morning! :)

Here we are...one week into JULY!!! Shock - horror!!!! Where did half the year go to??
In Craft-land it's that time of year, when the 'man in the red suit' starts to creep up on us!! But before that, lets appreciate the summer for a while...and what better way than with some beautiful butterflies!
......... IndigoBlu Challenge ........
The challenge this month is Flutterby - and for my Demonstrator Inspiration piece, I made something that was more of a challenge to photograph than make!! Haha
I absolutely love working with acetate...but it's very difficult to lose the reflections and glare.
Hopefully you'll see the effects and beautiful shimmer going on in this card.

The black base card has been stamped with the Crackleglaze background, using Townhouse Teal and Aladdin - English Cottage Artist's Acrylic Paint

I have used Magicals - from Lindy's Stamp Gang on the Big Butterfly wings...along with Mega Flake.
The Dinky Butterfly on the acetate has been stamped using our 'Flinky' technique...and painted with our wonderful paints.

The fabulous winner’s prize this month is your choice of IndigoBlu stamps.  As always, you have 3 options to choose from:

1:   2 Large stamp plates
or
2:   4 Small stamp plates
or
3:   1 Large and 2 small plates
There’s also the Winner’s Badge, and one for the Top 3, to display proudly on your blog, and the WINNER of the challenge will also be invited to do a GUEST SPOT on a future Challenge Launch post. That’s right, your work will be on the Challenge Blog alongside the Design Team!

Don't forget to check out the Challenge DT's wonderful work for this challenge on the blog too xx

Take care
Happy Crafting

Sugar 'n' Spice....

Hello...hello!!
Gosh...another week has flown by! Not without life's challenges I might add, and one night of not getting to bed at all, but we got through them, and all is quiet once again, shhhh x
This week at Mo's challenge Peggy has set us the theme of ... Sugar 'n' Spice ... so a good excuse to get all girlie!!
I have used Mo's gorgeous 'Strawberry Girl' image...she's soooo cute with her strawberry dress and matching handbag! The front of the card is made of acetate, on which I have printed a strawberry digital paper design. The 'canopy' has been made using a Stampin' Up! border punch and the sentiment is from SU! too.

I Did It!!

Nope...nothing spectacular to report, just that my Tim Holtz 'Shabby Vintage' papers arrived yesterday...the ones I've had my eye on for aaaages...but kept talking myself out of!! The ones that I spent most of yesterday stroking...the ones that tonight/this morning...I USED!!!!!!!! SHOCK!!! HORROR!!! They are definitely that sort of paper pack where you need to have two! ...Or perhaps my brother in law is right...perhaps I DO need to get out more!! lol
But, you know you're having fun when you look at the clock and it tells you that it's 4.15 in the morning...AGAIN!!!! Eeeek! ...It wasn't entirely MY fault...it was those papers and the image that were calling me!! ^.^

I have used Zei Prom from the Just Inklined range of digi stamps, and she is gorgeous. I just love her boots! I'm a terror for wearing mine...undone...all the time...not with a skirt though...but I think she looks great!
This is a tent card, and I've used nesties to take out the shape in the centre, backed it with acetate and then put the 'next size down label' (technical jargon!) back in the middle. IYKWIM :) Then used a smaller size still to make the tags.
I'm entering this into...
Papertake Weekly - Something old, new, borrowed or blue - Used my new papers and image
Stamp With Fun - Lilac/Blue
Penny's Paper Craft - Anything Goes
Frosted Designs - Celebrate Life - Birthday

Funky Fairy Challenge ... Week 20!!!

''Jozza has set the weekly challenge and has chosen to give us all a sketch to use as inspiration.''

You don't have to use the sketch as it is drawn...you can always turn it on its side... or even upside down...it's up to you!'

Have fun! ^.^

I made my card for my Sister's birthday, using the FREE add on pack for Doodlementals...available on on the Inspiration Blog! I've printed onto acetate and made a jacket for my card too! ^.^

Pinkie Pops...With NO Pink!!!

A birthday looms for a friend whom, I think it's fair to say... doesn't 'DO' pink!!!
Well, seems as I'm lovin' my new Pinkie Pops kit, I challenged myself to make her a birthday card...with said kit!!!!!

Ok...before you shout at your screen...I see pink!!! *.*
I decided to stand the card on a piece of pink mount board just so's I could have a tinsy winsy bit of pink in the picture, and it's reflected in the silver mirri card that I've mounted the 'Birthday Girl' greeting on...doh!

The letters are stuck to a piece of acetate and hung over the top of the card so they actually dangle freely. The greetings are on silver mirri card and my wonderful Crop-a-dile has helped me to set eyelets to each tag to which I've added contrast ribbons. The edge of the card has been inked with a Charcoal chalk ink pad.

The centre has been made using a W S Designs Small Pop Out - Rectangle template... and from that I have dangled two hearts that have been embossed with 2 layers of clear embossing powder and stuck back to back.

Hope she likes it!!!
