Funky Fairy Challenge-week 2
The Funky Fairy's challenge was set by Lulu this week and had to be made up based upon a sketch she had given...
This is my effort using some new FREE papers (thanks Shaz) ... and Rags 1, the teddy...who has actually pinched Rags 3's blanky!!!
I have used sentiments from the Pinkie Pops kit and embossed a chipboard border in lilac to go round it.

...And Here's Nellie
Here she is...complete with spotty boots and pot plant !
Nellie has been coloured with watercolour pencils then layered on top of backing papers from the DCWV Glitter stack and Funky Fairy's 'Pinkie Pops'. The flowers are from Prima and in the centre are brads which I've coated in glitter glue to match the centres of the backing paper flowers.

Introducing... Maggie!
Maggie, has come to stay at my house along with her friend Nellie...whom I hasten to add is a bit shy, but will be out to play later!

Their original owners Sugar Nellie wanted them to get out and see Scotland... so sent them to Funky Kits ... but due to overcrowding they needed new homes!
Oh and psssst...they have Magnolia's too !! Ann, in particular might just like to home 'Angus' ...he has your name written all over him 
Anyway...here's Maggie...

Pinkie Pops...With NO Pink!!!
A birthday looms for a friend whom, I think it's fair to say... doesn't 'DO' pink!!!
The centre has been made using a W S Designs Small Pop Out - Rectangle template... and from that I have dangled two hearts that have been embossed with 2 layers of clear embossing powder and stuck back to back.
Well, seems as I'm lovin' my new Pinkie Pops kit, I challenged myself to make her a birthday card...with said kit!!!!!
Ok...before you shout at your screen...I see pink!!! *.*
I decided to stand the card on a piece of pink mount board just so's I could have a tinsy winsy bit of pink in the picture, and it's reflected in the silver mirri card that I've mounted the 'Birthday Girl' greeting on...doh!
The letters are stuck to a piece of acetate and hung over the top of the card so they actually dangle freely. The greetings are on silver mirri card and my wonderful Crop-a-dile has helped me to set eyelets to each tag to which I've added contrast ribbons. The edge of the card has been inked with a Charcoal chalk ink pad.

Lots of Lovely Flowers
The theme for the craftswap Fat Page Challenge this week is ... Flowers!
I have used my new papers from the 'Pinkie Pops' range by Funky Fairy's.
The largest and smallest flowers and the leaves have been 'Diamond Glazed'. Usually I would pop any air bubbles but these just happened to come up just in the right place for eyes...so I left them :o)

A Great Start To 2008...
I went on my usual wander this morning with cup of coffee in hand to find that when I stopped of at Funky Fairy's I had won last weeks challenge!!! 
How exciting is that? I never win anything so am really, really,really pleased!! 
Thank you very much to Shaz for the challenge, I really enjoyed doing it (be it until 3am :o) ) and for the great prize as it includes some images of your fabby stamps

It was using one colour...but as many shades of as you liked.

...Is the theme for week 87/88 of Florrie's ATC challenge on Craftswap forum. There is a new one for this week, which is week 89. I'm just late as usual!
I have dabbed ink from a Tim Holtz distress pad lightly over an ATC, then stamped it with one of the stamps from an Autumn Leaves 'Flourish' set. It has then been spritzed with Solar Gold Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels and left to dry before going round the edge with a Gold Krylon pen.
The wording 'Count Your Blessings' is from a K&CO 'To Go' box (Yes...I've used one - Yippee!!) coated with a pearlescent beige Brilliance pad and again edged with Krylon pen. I used ribbons and a brad to finish it.
Apologies as the picture doesn't do it any favours really... you can't see the glimmer or the writing very well x

Bear in Chair!
I started to have a much needed tidy up on my desk last night, but it wasn't long before I spotted the little bear I'd cut out and decoupaged a couple of days ago and left to dry! A halt was put on the tidying, as I felt it more important to give this little chap a home...well, wouldn't you? :o)
He is another great download from Funky Fairy Papercrafts, and if you like him...he also has friends! The papers are from the Brenda Pinnick kit that was a QVC TSV last year.
Anyway...I'm happy and he's happy now, so tidying will resume...ONE DAY!!

...And there it was...gone!!!
Good morning all 
My good friend Linda dropped by yesterday... well, when I say 'dropped by', I actually mean that she went way out of her way to visit, on her journey from Bristol, going back up to Glasgow! It was wonderful to see her and the girls were thrilled! In fact, Daisy sat by the door and cried when she went :o(
Anyway, we were chatting (just a little bit, you understand! ) and Linda mentioned a site called 'Cuddly Buddly'. Well, me being 'inquisitive' (a posher way of saying nosey) went and had a look after the tinies had gone to bed.
It's a really great place...graphics, step by step projects, papers, freebies, templates and more...well worth a look.
From there came the inspiration for today's creations...a little notebook and a pen/pencil box! Unfortunately as soon as they were made...they were gone!! Eldest daughter dropped in last night and asked if she could have them for her friend who is poorly at the moment. So I personalised them, took a quick photo and waved goodbye
Not being the owner of a 'bind it all',(sob :o( ) I used a spiralbound notebook and cut all the little slots so the paper on the notebook cover fitted snuggly...then added some images from the Cuddly Buddly site, a few Prima flowers and some gem stones. Finally I tied ribbons, fibres and lace down the spiral.
The pen box was a template which I downloaded from the same site, cut out, scored and folded ...difficult stuff eh? I made a matching label for the front and added a few gems...hey presto!
I hope it cheers her friend up xx

Presents!
This is my very first attempt at the Craftswap scrapbook challenge... the theme is 'Presents'!
Not really sure if I've got the hang of scrapbooking but here it is......
The papers were downloaded from Funky Fairy's. The ickle gift bow is a 3 pointed variation of the one from We don't do duvets ...and much, much smaller too! I have edged both my 'Daisy present' and the page with a very thin tape which is supposed to be used for nail art, but worked well just to give a finished look.
Hope it's ok!

Wedding Clock
I was just filing some recent photo'sand realised I hadn't put the last of the clocks that I made on here. This was given to my FIL and step MIL when we went to visit on New Years Day.
Making it also made me remember that I've still to finish their wedding album from August!!!!!!! It'll be a 1st Anniversary gift by the time it's finished...Oooops!

I've been doing a lot of 'blog walking' lately ...starting on someones blog and following links! Try it, you never know where you'll end up and what you'll find! It's great looking at other peoples wonderful work and ideas.
Whilst out 'walking' the other day, I came across a lovely site... with a really lovely 'owner' Shaz, who designs her own 'downloadable' paper kits and a very special range of stamps 'Doodles for Daniel'. After a very tragic year for her and the family, she is back designing and yesterday released a new 'Pinkie Pops' collection...it's adorable
Shaz also sets challenges (weekly, I think?) ...the first one of 2008 has just been set... 'An altered item using funky fairy products' ...my effort is here...

New Year...New Challenges...And Reflections
Well...here we are in 2008!
Today is my wonderful Dad's 84th Birthday...
XXX HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD XXX
This new year I have decided to be selfish!!!!!!!! Ok...When I say selfish, I don't mean
...I mean, as in I want to make some things for me to keep.
Don't get me wrong, I have loved making things, sending them off and hoping the recipient enjoys my work, and in the case of swaps and lists, it's been great to get other crafters lovely work in exchange.
I really want to get into scrapbooking this year as I seem to have a ickle collection of photographs stored in a container about 2' x 1' x 1' !!! (whatever that is in metric :o) ) and 5 CDs full of photo's downloaded from cameras and phones... and need to start somewhere! Soooo watch out Lesley, I'm coming to join your Scrapbooking challenges on Craftswap Forum
Having 4 girls, my main collection of photo's are of them, which I am really looking forward to 'scrapping', but hopefully by doing the challenges it will encourage me to look at, and take photo's of different things that go on in the world around me, that quite often I am running past at speeds too fast to take notice of.
I'd also like to try and do some of the old Fat Book Page challenges of last year (and 2006!!) ...I think I only have about 80 to do and I'm up to date
Also, I want to get back into the weekly ATC challenge that our dear friend Susie (Florrie) ...who we sadly lost last year and miss greatly...started, back in mid 2006.
Looking back on last year, has really made me realise how quickly life changes and disappears, and how much goes by unnoticed. We lost two very dear friends from the forum last year...Susie and Tracy...a massive blow, and both are so dearly missed xx
I've been on such a wonderful crafting journey since joining Craftswap in April 2006, done things I've loved...many I haven't!! And like to think I have learned soooo much!
I'd like to thank Simon...our wonderful Administrator and friend... for making a 2nd home for all us crafters to meet in Craftswap Forum. From there I found the most wonderful 'crafting friends' - of which some, have become the greatest friends in my life
If you want to start a new addiction in 2008...come and join us at Craftswap.
Lastly...Now that I have joined the ranks of 'Crafty Blogs' (see bottom of page) ...I am finding that folks from all over the world nip in for a cup of tea and a choccie biccy...Welcome to you all
