First Anniversary!

Today is my 1st Blogoversary!!
Gosh!! Where does the time go???
Now...I'm not too sure, but I think that some of it {but not enough!} was spent .... crafting!!

As it happens... the 1st of October was the 1st Anniversary of the Papertake Weekly Challenge! So this week they are offering the choice of two challenges...

Firsts - first birthday, Christmas, anniversary etc OR
No Stamping! - embellishments, papers, die cuts, paper folding, stitching, encaustic, doodling? etc etc

How perfect!!
And as it was a bit special for me too...I decided to do both!!!
This is my 'No Stamping' card...

...and this is my First Anniversary card!
{Apologies for the blinding light...good old acetate once again I'm afraid!! }
Now, I know it doesn't actually say 'Happy Anniversary' - but that's because it's a bit daft sending myself a card! ...BUT...instead it's a 'Thank You' for all of you who have visited over the last year...

Thank you so, so much for all your lovely comments everyone...and most importantly...your time ♥

Tag You're It...

This week for the 'Tag You're It' challenge...they would like to see altered fabric flowers.

"we'd like you to create a tag using altered fabric flowers. They can be altered in any way you see fit ~ painted, inked, stamped, cut from fabric, glittered, etc ~ as long as you've done something to alter them from their original form!"

I have made a little tag book, with some glittered flowers on the front cover and inside...you might need a magnifying glass...I have stamped some lickle tiny bees trying to get pollen from a brad!! Bless them ♥ This is the rest of the book....

Something Stripy...and Late!!!!!!!

Whilst TRYING to have a bit of a sort out on my desk today, I found an ATC sized piece of card with stripy paper on it!!!
Oh yes!!!! ...I remember now!

Before I got all poorly last week I had started to do Leonie's Fab Friday challenge... 'Something Stripy'!
So...sorry,sorry,sorry it's late Leonie...but here it is finished at last!!!

Oh Baby!

Just thought I'd share with you a little pressie and matching card that I made one of Katieann's teachers, who left this week on maternity leave. She has two teachers who job share...I have another set to make yet, as the other goes off on maternity leave at the end of term!!! ^.^

Black & White...

Doesn't time fly when you're having fun?!! I can't believe the time yet again, but anyway, here is my effort for this weeks Florrie's ATC Challenge over on Craftswap Forum.

'MrsSpook' - otherwise known as June, set this weeks challenge of 'Black & White' ^.^






It was a bit late when I put this on last night (ok, early this morning *.*) so thought I'd just leave the details now.



The backing paper is another gorgeous design from Raspberry Road Designs, and the stamp is from Stamposaurus ... one of two named 'Ladies in Hats' ^.^


These were stamps given to me by a dear friend, who is sadly no longer with us...this is for Tracy...miss you xxx

Letters of the Alphabet...

The challenge over at 'Theme Thursday' this week is 'Letters of the Alphabet'...
'Use one or more letters of the alphabet on your creation this week! Use them on their own or use letters to make up a word!' ................

This fits nicely with the card I have made for my dear Mum for Mother's Day...which here in the UK is on Sunday 2nd March x

The green backing paper is from Raspberry Road designs, and I have to be honest...I'm not sure about the pink paper :0/

The letters are made of thick card, which I have coated in pink acrylic paint and edged with Fuchsia Pink Stazon. I have then doodled some flowers ...a technique taught to me by a wonderfully talented friend Linda...who also designs her own rubber stamps...they are available from here

The flower images are from the 'Doodles for Daniel' range, and have been stamped using Fuchsia Pink Stazon. I have 'dotted the dots' with contrasting colours of Liquid Pearls, then layered the two sizes and secured with brads. The card has been finished with two rows of ribbon x

Christmas Goodie Bags...

As some of you may know, it's Christmas Day for us! ...we are just off to my FILs, as are a few other family members.
As it's mainly for my BIL, who missed Christmas as he was overseas in December, we are not doing big pressies etc, but I thought I'd make a few little gift bags for the girlies. I know I'm going to have the men moaning but if they want 'Pinkie Pops' gift bags...I'll gladly make them one!!! ^.^








Yes...Joe is male, but he's only 11! ^.^

The papers used for the 5 bags are Pinkie Pops from Funky Fairy's...and the two others are from Raspberry Road Designs. The dotty alphabet is also from Funky Fairy and the pink heart alphabet is from Snowsmoon’s Design.

Wonderful Wedding!!

A lovely, lovely forum friend is off to get married at the end of the week!
I'm hoping that she is too busy packing to see this...but should she be organised and twiddling her thumbs...

Sunday Stampers - week 2

Sunday Stampers theme this week is Black and White. It's a challenge using inky and stampy ingredients! (I'm into this recipe lark a the moment, have you noticed?? ) ^.^
The base cardstock has been covered with paper from Raspberry Road Designs, to which I have smudged a Charcoal chalk ink pad around the edge...onto that I have put white linen effect card. On top of that is a piece of glossy card to which I have 'splodged' black alcohol ink.
The large dotty flower has been made with the 'Build a Flower' stamp kit from Funky Fairy's and the center flower (from doodles for daniel) has been stamped onto vellum and curled to match the large one. I have added tiny white beads to the middle of the small flower to finish it off.
The butterfly has been stamped and cut out twice, layered and curled also. Best Wishes has been stamped onto white card, matted onto black and stuck down with a piece of black and white spotty ribbon to finish the card off.

Roses are Red....

I thought I'd have a go at the Papertake challenge this week...it is this..........
This weeks challenge, 'Roses are Red..' is to use red on your card! Any shade or shades of red that you like from bright pillar box to deep burgandy!!

This is my effort...which I am going to donate to Linda_E for her charity. I know how much Valentine's day meant to little Tia ...this is for her xxxx

The backing papers I've used are from Raspberry Road. The 'Love' stamped image is from the 'doodles for daniel' range, and has been coloured with a red Sakura gelly roll pen and Fired Brick Distress ink. I have then used my Versamark pad and embossed it with a frost embossing powder (I'm not sure where from).
Maggie, has been coloured using watercolour pencils and her balloon is a heart shaped brad. Two red snaps have been put down in the bottom left to balance it a bit and red ribbon tied round two of the letters.

Maggie, has come to stay at my house along with her friend Nellie...whom I hasten to add is a bit shy, but will be out to play later!

Their original owners Sugar Nellie wanted them to get out and see Scotland... so sent them to Funky Kits ... but due to overcrowding they needed new homes!

Oh and psssst...they have Magnolia's too !! Ann, in particular might just like to home 'Angus' ...he has your name written all over him

Anyway...here's Maggie...She has been coloured using watercolour pencils... and all of the backing papers are from Raspberry Road Designs . Oh and by the way...this particular little Maggie comes complete with accessories!!! The balloon is separate from the stick so you can change it for a star, a heart or a flag.

Isn't she just the sweetest thing??
